After a long and incredibly successful run in theaters, it’s now time for the digital premiere. This is an important event for us. With its release on the national online cinema SWEET.TV, the film is continuing the life cycle of the project, in accordance with industry laws. Ukrainians have been waiting for Mavka to appear online for a long time, and now, finally, starting from August 24, they have the opportunity to watch it legally, thereby counteracting the growth of piracy and upholding the principles of civilized content consumption,“ says Iryna Kostyuk, producer of the animated film MAVKA. Preparations for the online premiere began during the active phase of distribution of the movie in Ukraine. The creators and partners see this as a national event. With viewers now able to watch the film online, the Forest Guardian will soon garner even more fans in every corner of our country.
“The moment we got wind of the animated film MAVKA, we decided that we wanted to show it to the Ukrainian audience on SWEET.TV. A high-quality, touching movie that reflects the beauty of Ukrainian traditions and the steadfastness of our people: that's something that fully accords with our ideas about the kind of content we want to show. We acquired the exclusive rights to screen Mavka in 2021, without knowing that in 2023 it was going to become more important and relevant than ever due to the war, the blackouts, and all the other difficulties faced by Ukrainians that are preventing some of them from watching the movie at a cinema. So, we are happy to announce that, from August 24 onwards, you and your family will be able to enjoy watching Mavka at home, online, on SWEET.TV. I would like to add that the only place where you can legally watch Mavka is on SWEET.TV – everything else is piracy, which we are fighting hard to stop. Support Ukraine's content creators, rather than the people behind the piracy,“ said the director of SWEET.TV, Oleksandr Rezunov.

While going about that task, she meets Lukas, a young lad who seems fairly ordinary but is a very talented musician. His flute-playing awakens a new feeling in Mavka’s heart, and she is faced with a choice between love and her duty as a Forest Guardian.
