First from Ukraine: Mavka and Mom Hurries Home Selected for a European Business Forum

For the first time Ukrainian projects will try themselves out at the main business platform of European animation industry. Mavka. The Forest Song (Animagrad) and Mom Hurries Home (Glowberry) were selected out of 65 projects from 17 countries to participate in Animation Production Day, a business forum to take place in the framework of ITFS, animation festival in Stuttgart on May 4-5.

Magical Willow, the Heart of the Forest, is one of the central images of the animated full meter “Mavka. The Forest Song”. It is protected from human encroachments by the lead female character Mavka, the main antagonist of the film hunts it as the unique treasure. Now the Willow will grow not only at the hidden lawn in the cartoon, but also on the territory of the film studio FILM.UA.

On March 9, FILM.UA Group and Animagrad producers pitched Mavka. The Forest Song internationally for the first time, and did so with great success. The pitching took place at the biggest European animation forum Cartoon Movie, with Ukraine participating in it for the first time.

On March 8-10 in Bordeaux, one of the biggest European events for animation industry professionals will take place, and it is Cartoon Movie, the European animation forum. Mavka. The Forest Song became the first ever Ukrainian project to be selected by the organizational committee for participation in the forum pitching.

On 17th of February Berlin saw the end of the European Film Market held under the aegis of the 67th Berlin International Film Festival. Except the market itself where FILM.UA Group was presented by its own stand as a part of IFTA, EFM also conducted a range of industry events for producers from all over the world, in which the Group also participated.
