Today Marche du Film in Cannes, a major global film market, finishes its work. FILM.UA Group has traditionally participated in the film market with its stand in Riviera; the Group projects were also presented at the national stand in Village International.

The 71st Cannes Film Festival and the traditional Marche du Film, which is one of the world’s largest film markets for full-length content, are starting on May 8. This year, FILM.UA Group’s headliner at the market is MAVKA.THE FOREST SONG project.

On March 9, producers Iryna Kostyuk and Anna Eliseeva, director Aleksandra Ruban and pitching consultant for the project Lyubov Krokhmalna (MRM) presented an animation feature Mavka. The Forest Song at the 20th Cartoon Movie forum (Bordeaux, France).

The project was selected for the second year in a row – in 2017, Mavka. The Forest Song was presented in “In Concept” category and became the forum highlight. This year, the film made it to the pitching in the following category, “In Development.”

Producers of Mavka. The Forest Song project have been invited to Belgium to present the animated film at pitching session of the second co-production forum to take place on December 19-20 under the aegis of Be Film Festival (December 19-24).

Film market participants and accredited press were presented with seven feature films, most of which are screen adaptations of Ukrainian and world literature. The line included animation films The Stolen Princess and Mavka. The Forest Song (produced by Animagrad), historical films The Rising Hawk, Gareth Jones and Anna de Kiev (produced by Kinorob) and feature films Felix Austria and Crazy Wedding (produced by FILM.UA Group).
